Graduate dinghy sail number 2910, “Sorcerer” (formerly known as “Paparazzi”) is being offered for sale. The boat is of wooden construction, believed to be a homebuilt boat from a kit, with design cues taken from the Francis built ‘Rebel’ graduate dinghies. The boat was built in the early 1980’s, validated by both original and recent measurement certificates. I have owned her since 2003 and enjoyed 10 years racing in her; the boat has been garage stored since October 2013.
The Graduate comes complete with updated design mainsail (Edge Sails, 2010, est. cost £395), Jib (Northern Sails, 2007, est. £175), a Combi-trailer (Hayling Trailers, 2011, est. cost £500), carbon fibre fly away jib pole, and a custom inboard sheeting system. She was configured to race, and enjoyed reasonable success in our club racing. The boat also comes with 2x covers, a flat top cover (Banks, 2010, est. cost £110) for trailing and an OverBoom Cover PVC Polyester (RainandSun, 2012, £145), both in very good condition.
In its current condition, the port side rubbing strake needs similar work undertaking (I have the oak strip facia to match the starboard side) before re-varnishing the deck once again. The boat needs minimal work before taking to the water again. This is a relatively easy job – I had intended to get this work done myself before selling her, but alas, too many toys and not enough time!
The asking price reflects the aforementioned works, and the nearly new sails, covers, deck hardware and combi-trailer, but I am open to sensible offers.
The boat remains in dry storage, near Portsmouth, UK and is available for viewings on request.
